In addition to his regular work in the Opera Philadelphia chorus, Steve was engaged at the Metropolitan Opera extended chorus for the production of Wagner's "Parsifal" Parsifal Live in HD broadcast is on March 2, 2013 at local cinemas. As I was rehearsing AVA production of Eugene Onegin, a couple of Russian Opera Workshop (ROW) alumni dropped by. Soprano Shelley Jackson was accepted to the Academy of Vocal Arts and will join the AVA Artist Roster in the fall of 2012. Russian Opera Workshop 2011 alumna, Shelley performed the title role of Iolanta in Tchaikovsky's opera Iolanta. Congratulations, Shelley! Mini Reunion01/30/2012 Brad Cawyer is back in US on a short tour from Saint Petersburg, Russia. He stopped in Philly for a quick visit with yours truly, Ghenady Meirson, and Shelley Jackson. It was nice to catch up and reminisce about Russian Opera Workshop 2011 and our work on Iolanta, where Shelley sang the title role. |
